Lionel Messi Set for New Record Breaking Deal?
26th March 2014
The 4-time World Player of the Year is already one of the highest paid players in the world, and it wasn’t too long ago that he signed a new deal to keep him at the Nou Camp until 2018. New Barcelona President Josep Bartomeu said…
We all want Messi to be the best-paid player in the world and that is what we are working on. Right now we are concentrating on the competitions we are in but it will happen soon. Nobody here wants to sell Messi. You cannot sell Leo. He arrived here when he was 13 and he is one of ours.
Highest Paid Player
Reports claim that Messi is to be offered a new deal, worth a staggering £336,000 a week. This record breaking deal will see Messi overtake players such as Gareth Bale and new World Player of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo. It will also see the little Argentinian become the highest earner on WhatFootballersEarn.com.
The new deal is expected to increase Messi’s buy-out clause, which currently stands around a reported £210 million, which would mean another club trying to purchase the player would be almost impossible.
